This beautiful old character home has undergone a transformation with insulation and draught proofing. The results have been noticed with a warmer quieter home, but the nice surprise was the savings on the power bill with an awesome 56% saving from the same month a year earlier. Dave and Michelle from Oamaru have owned this beautiful old home that has stunning architecture, but like so many beautiful old homes it was cold and draughty and had major power bills. It was also situated near the main road into Oamaru with a lot of traffic noise. It also suffered from condensation and mold issues. Michelle contacted us about improving their home by insulating and sealing the windows. We started by installing our retro draught seals to all their windows and straight away they noticed how much warmer and quieter their home was. We completed the project with externally fitted double glazing which made the windows and doors into high performance triple glazed protection. The combination of insulation and draught protection provided a high level of comfort and power savings that transforms these older homes into desirable thermally efficient dwellings.
